Effective Date: December 1, 2022
We collect certain information through our website, including products and services provided on the site. This page (the
"Privacy Policy") outlines our policies and procedures regarding the collection and management of any information that
identifies an individual user or can be used to contact or locate them ("Personally Identifiable Information" or "PII").
This Privacy Policy applies only to our website and the products and services offered through it. It does not apply to any third-
party sites or services linked to our website, recommended or referred to by our website, through our products or services, or
by our staff. It also does not apply to any other websites, products, or services operated by Distrotrax or any of our offline
activities.
PII We Collect
We collect the following personally identifiable information from users who purchase our products or services: name, email
address, phone number, address, bank account details, and/or TransferWise account number.
We also use "cookies" to collect certain information from all users, including web visitors who do not make purchases. A cookie
is a string of data that our system sends to your computer and uses to identify it when you return to our website. Cookies
provide us with usage data, such as how often you visit, where you navigate on the site, and what actions you take.
Our Use of PII
We use your personally identifiable information to create your Distrotrax artist account for the Distrotrax digital music
distribution service (the "Service"), to operate the Service, communicate with you about products and services you've
purchased, offer additional products and services, and handle billing and accounting. We also use this information as
necessary to enforce the website's Terms of Service and to prevent imminent harm to people or property.
Cookies allow our website to remember you and provide the information you are likely to need. For example, when you return
to our website, cookies identify you and prompt the site to display your username (but not your password), so you can log in
more quickly. Cookies also enable the website to remember past purchases and suggest similar products or services. Finally,
we use cookie-based data to compile statistical information about website usage, such as the time users spend on the site and
the pages they visit most frequently. These statistics do not include PII.
Protection of PII
We employ data security tools to protect personally identifiable information. Unfortunately, even with these measures, we
cannot guarantee the security of PII. By using our website or the Service, you acknowledge and agree that we offer no such
guarantee, and you use the website and Service at your own risk.
Contractor and Third-Party Access to PII
We provide certain independent contractors with access to personally identifiable information. These contractors assist us in
delivering artist services. All contractors must sign agreements requiring them to protect PII using procedures reasonably
similar to ours. (Users are not third-party beneficiaries of these agreements.)
We may also disclose PII to attorneys, collection agencies, or law enforcement to address potential policy violations, contract
breaches, or illegal behavior. Additionally, we disclose any information required by a court order, legal mandate, or to prevent
imminent harm to people or property. Lastly, we may share PII in connection with corporate transactions such as mergers or
sales involving Distrotrax or its affiliates.
As noted above, we compile website usage statistics from cookie-based data. We may publish or share these statistics with
third parties, but they do not include PII.
Except as outlined in this Privacy Policy, we do not share PII with third parties.
Accessing and Correcting Your PII
You can access and update any personally identifiable information stored by us through the "account" page of the Service.
Modifications to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting a new version on this page or a subsequent page. The new version
will take effect on the date it is posted, displayed as the new effective date at the top of the page.
